I like Hamad hospital - but ask any nurse working there and seeing a lot - they will tell you: avoid the Qatari doctors - because most of them get their positions just because they are from Qatar and not because of their knowledge .
I find there a lots of very good doctors from other Arab countries - speaking excellent English . The problem with the Qatari everywhere is the same . They are not motivated to do better - because they are 100 % sure that they can keep their jobs and positions just because they are locals .They do not have to compete like others have to .This way they are not the best professionals here.
I liked the pediatric clinic - all the other doctors were child centered good professionals . It was some years ago .
I have no idea what was the position of my doctora - but as I do not speak Arabic well enough to communicate on my child's health I needed someone who understands basic English - but she did not .

Many people took away their kids - especially the Qatari people- while I was staying there .
Perhaps you do not know that the non-Qatari have to pay for the hospital stay - even for kids - for health cards - for visiting specialists .
