Listen folks my mother is white, father is black, We grew up in a white surroundings all my life. I come from an almost remote part of canada. I never new racism until I left my home town to live in a bigger city. I never heard the word Nigger, Honkey or what ever it is they call each other untill then. When we got in arguments at school I never heard a white kid call me that name and I never called them racial names. As a matter of fact I can remember the first time I was called a nigger, it was by a 5 year old white child. I wonder now about that child and I am willing to bet that that child hates any race or anything that is not white. Racism starts with in the family and is carried out by people who make comments like timtan.
For those of you that are saying We Blacks think that it is ok for a black to call a white man racial names, I think you got it all wrong. I have a feeling you are basing this view on what you see on TV and in the media. Average, white people and black people don't call each others these names and don't practice racism, this is why we now have obama. As far as some people having chips on their shoulders, I don't know if you are white or not but in the case you are not white. I'd like for you to come to north america or europe and lets see how long it will take for you to be discriminated against, wheater it be because you are arab, indian, muslim, or just simply because your skin is not white. Nowhere in this world have I travelled have I been more disrespected by people than in my own country canada. Not just by whites but by others who think they are racially above other people.
If it seems that some blacks living here in the western world have a "BIG OLE CHIP" on there shoulder then your probably right. I personally don't have a chip on my shoulder. However, I like to have my opinion on these forms voiced.
I am always excited to go to sleep! In anticipation of the new experience I will find awaiting me.
