I suppose it's the culture in which one grows up in and upbringing, religious or otherwise, which shapes one's values. One thing good about the easterners, the culture of respect and commitment to elders and family - they generally don't cop out of a marriage that easily. (Again, a generalization and there are nasty exceptions). I used to see them, either in my office or in court.
