hi there, the usual practice is not to resign until you get your CID clearance (what you call as police clearance). Nobody in CID owes you an explanation of reason for the delay. But you can do two things, one is to pray and wait, and the other is to ask your previous employer/ future employer to help you.

I went through the same thing myself, and it took me four months to actually recover from this situation. But if you would be joining QP, i am almost sure that once you're onboard QP, you will recover quickly. so be patient. it's the process, hope for the best, get someone to help you, and hope you a great new year with QP.
