Hello,
I am not sure about company ORYX GTL, but recently I went to Doha to attend a site interview @ Qatar Petrolium. This is what happened in those two days:
1.Somebody picked me up from the airport and took me to the hotel
2.In the first morning, I was taken to the office where I was interviewed by my boss and departmental director. It last two to three hours for me. It was an in-depth technical interview to find out if I can lead the team, my knowledge, my leadership skills, etc etc.Later, I was introduced with some folks who I am going to work with.
3. In the second day, I was taken to a hospital to do a complete medical checkup including: blood test, urine test, vision test, ECG (if > 30 yrs of age), X-Ray, blood pressure . If you are ask to go for a medical test, it is better to fast after midnight.
4.After the medical test I was taken to the HR office, and there I was interviewed by an HR manager. And he asked me some questions as well. Specially education related, current work, why u want to leave
5. And next morning I took a flight to Washington.
Again it depends on company to company, but I've found out that sitting with the departmental manager and director were the most important part of the whole process. I think, if you have the email address of the person who took your phone interview, it should be okay if you ask that person what is going to happen in that site interview.
Also, I have found out following tiny things can bring up a happy conclusion:
a) Wear a nice shirt, suit, a good tie. No jean at all
b)Wear a nice pair of polished shoes
c) Do a background research about the company
d)Show enthusiasm about the position
e) put a nice smile
f)Finally be confident
g)End up with a nice tank you brief speech
h) Write a follow up thank you letter, very very important, even if your job is confirmed.
