Well journalishgirl... These revealing dresses that you see at Mango, Next, Zara, H&M etc are meant only for Qatari women to wear it beneath their abayas.. I know now since I work with a local gov company.. I have seen in the ladies washroom when they take off their abayas to go to the loo what they wear inside..
Secondly.. I started to wear abaya at work.. My boss told me to and frankly I found it difficult at first but now getting used to it.. I can wear whatever I want underneath or maybe nothing at all.. LOL.. I don't have to decide every night what to wear or rummage my closet and iron clothes and look for matching earings.. I just grab a pair of jeans or a long skirt and wear a halter neck, sleevless or tank top.. Then don the abaya plus loads of makeup.. Matching bag and shoes.. And I am all set.. But there is one drawback though.. I went in this attire to Royal plaza last week after work.. Gosh.. The worst experience of my life.. I was chased by so many men.. I have never experienced this kind of harrasment when I dress up in my nationl dress shalwar kameez.. But that day in abaya and shela.. I was followed by dozens of men and some even gave me their mobile numbers in Arabic.. One guy sent me a note thru the waiter at the coffee shop.. From that day onwards, I have decided to keep the abayas only for work to please my boss but outside and other public places.. NO WAY
