kool,

The existing airport screening, whereby you go through metal detectors after passport control but before you enter the duty free shopping, is adequate and is what is used in practically every other country in the world.

Not all countries x-ray checked baggage, so even if it happens in Doha, passengers boarding from connecting flights where checked baggage isn't x-rayed, will have slipped through the net anyway.

The only important thing to me is that carry on baggage and passengers are x-rayed. This is still happening, and, for my money, still sufficient.

Personally I could never work out why I had to remove my keys, coins, phones, watch etc when I walked in to the airport, only to to be searched a second time after my passport had been stamped.

Total overkill (no pun...).
