Real estate mafia agents correct. What a scam it has been
these last years. Yes many buildings empty now, residential and commercial. Too easy to see in Doha.
As long as the people who own them can afford to keep them empty, they will stay that way. Too bad.
But more and more you see prices under pressure. Now I hear more and more of estate agents running after potential tenants but still asking unrealistic prices and demands. One thing for sure - NEVER pay the asking price. And if possible, always try and work directly with landlords who are renting. Dealing with ANY real estate agent here in Doha is a frustrating venture as their only goal from the outset is to soak your pocket out of many riyals as possible thus the unrealistic hocus pocus. There are many private landlords out there with properties they are willing to rent without trying to make a million riyals in 2 years time. The greed these past years was unprecedented and
the unscrupulous agents and landlords no longer have a feast of easy prey on tenants. I think the market will be stable to a declining trend for some time to come.
