Im sure I read somewhere that is hardwired into humans to be wary of things that are different, just look at a list of long numbers and then another where there are highlight, 5 number shte same etc or some distiguishing mark and you are instantly drawn to this. This can then be reinforced and applied to people through our peers etc as per victors comment.

The line between criticism and racism is a thin one though as it is difficult to know someones real intentions.
