In general a lot of controversy and excellent quality. A lot of food for though. Thanks Al Jazeera. Timing however is always harsh since one does not have time to see all, there were films with almost no public and films where you could barely find a seat, and not because of their quality.
I also find disturbing to see very young children brought to watch films not just with high political content but with escenes that their young minds cannot yet comprehend (well, we adults also do not understand the evil of our own hearts) and therefore not really necessary. It was also great that all movies were subtitled in English. Look forward to the next year Festival but after seeing the crowd yesterday I understand why they do not advertise it more!
Best movie I have seen: Beyond Blue and Grey (About Palestinian artists that try to make their art transcend beyond the political conflict, maybe very similar in idea to what you watched in Grozny Dreams)
