I recently moved in from UAE and also caried my car. I had two options..i) to drive through or..ii) hand over to an agent who can deliver it here.
Opted for the second one as first one required getting a transit visa for Saudi and somehow the timings to get the visa and the traffic department requirement to get the car out once they clear it for export did not match.
Depending on where u are in Gulf you can also get some advice from your dealer, traffic department or the transportation company such as GAC, etc.
