if other people will take advantage, ignore or not even like you for being the simple and down-to-earth person that you are, then it's their choice. after all, in the end, it's only between you and God...if others cannot accept you as you are, then they are the ones answerable to God, not you. Be simple in all that you do and life will not be too complicated. Having the qualities of a child is also part of being simple. Childishness is different from being child-like. Child-like attributes include trust and belief in other people's goodness,an open heart to surprises and miracles and of course the capability to forgive. All these account for simplicity, too.
