The marketers will tell you that stretch marks are prevented by moisturizing, but current medical info says that it's just genetics and luck of the draw :( http://www.babycenter.com/0_stretch-marks_1352276.bc

What can I do to prevent stretch marks?
Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do. Gaining no more than the recommended amount of weight — in most cases, 25 to 35 pounds — and gaining it slowly may reduce your chances of getting stretch marks.
There's no proof that any of the creams, salves, and oils that claim to prevent stretch marks actually work. (Keeping your belly well moisturized as it grows may reduce itching, though.)
I didn't moisturize at all (as in never) and I was HUGE with my first child - no stretch marks. I was much smaller with #2 and didn't get them either. I know other women who spent a fortune on products to prevent them and ended up getting them anyway. In short: I would recommend saving the time/money/frustration :)
Zinc is a necessary nutrient during pregnancy, but you want to be careful not to overdo it. The normal "prenatal vitamins" should take care of it for you - I wouldn't seek out zinc supplements without the advice of your doctor.
