I have been in Doha for over 7 years. felt more secure than my home country, until an incident shook the courage out of my wife to get on the streets alone.
its been a couple of months for her here. traffic had held me back by 10 min before i could reach her at the parlor in Al saad. A person in some big car asked her to hop in. she got scared a tried to walk away. but he moved his car from across the street to confront her again. She could barely manage to get back in the parlor.
i am unable to get that secure feeling in her to date. have only advised her to get the vehicle number incase such incident happens again. Intend to lodge a police complaint if something like this happens again.
my friend's wife also faced similar incident while getting groceries from a nearby store.
The question remains.... An suggestions if this situation can be handled differently?
