Firstly let me say it was never my intention to brag about the job/salary. If it came across this way I apologise.
As some of you have acknowledged making the decision to move to Qatar is a life changing one - more so as I would be looking to move with my wife and children. Hence I want to make sure as far as possible its the right decision.
Salary is one of the main cosiderations as from reading some of the posts on the site once you've accepted a salary this is pretty much fixed so I want to make sure I'm happy with this before deciding to make the move. I agree with Starsky that if it was merely salary I was considering you'd see a lot more expats from the West in the middle east.
Thanks for the comments about schooling. This is one of my main concerns as one of my children will be starting primary school in the fall. I've contacted DESS and their full and their waiting lists are also full so if there is no possibility of admission for the next academic year I won't be coming.
