I have the Samsung Galaxy S. It is rooted and has the latest firmware and a custom ROM.
The stories you here about it being made of plastic are true but it is light and the build quality is excellent. I have dropped my phone twice and it still does not have a scratch on it.
I can add or remove any apps, even the original Samsung bloatware.
Smartphones have short battery life, so you might be recharging your phone daily, a typical battery has a life of 500 charge cycles, so in a bit less than 2 years you will need to replace your battery, can you do that with a Apple without taking it to a store?.
Ask a question on QL and you will be no closer to making a decision.
