Remember the (in)famous instance when Tendulkar was 'gifted' a Ferrari for equaling Sir Don's feat of 29 tons. Although it is a major achievement and one that made the country proud, it is a blotch on the man's personality in the first instance to apply for a waiver on the custom's duty.

As a professional cricketer, he gets paid to do what he does and he gets rewarded for being damn good at it; but I personally do not agree on him being given preferential treatment over the salary earning simpletons who have to eventually cough up his share of the tax adding to the already existing burden on their shoulders trying to make ends meet.
