I have been to a few local weddings.. They wear such clothes but only among women. They come to the wedding in their usual abaya and shela then go to the cloakroom and once the emerge from there, they would put a catwalking ramp model to shame.. They look absolutely stunning in designer gowns.. backless, sleevles, halterneck, some even braless.. U name it and you will it.. I was shocked when I went to my first ever local wedding.. So I guess you can dress anyway you want as long as you wear an abaya on top.. This way everyone is happpy..
