I am not in the UK and also I'm not british. I have to add the benefits as here in europe nobody pays for my rent/mortgage, car, holiday tickets etc. The only thing I have on top of my salary is private medical insurance. So I think that when comparing salaries you should look at what stays in your pocket after you pay all your bills, rent, petrol, food etc. Assuming I get the health insurance, it would be just food i would spend money on in qatar, while here I have to pay for everything.
