Me and my husband stopped smoking 7 ½ years ago.  We made the decision to quit and just stopped on New Year’s Eve 2003.  We went cold turkey and although it was really tough we have no regrets.  The first 6 months are the hardest times.  Having someone to support you in quitting is ideal, if you don’t have any one then trying patches or gum may also help.

Moving to Qatar I have found it really difficult when we go out; in the fact that they still allow smoking in public places.

People should have the choice to smoke in they own homes but inflicting the smell, taste and possible cancer implications on others should not be allowed.  (In my opinion)

If your/other people’s health is not a good enough reason to stop then think about your bank balance!
