@Blastfreezer - I think you'll find that the effect will be an erosion in expat spending power as the salary increases drive inflation. Some expats may be lucky enough to negotiate salary increases, most won't though. And even the ones that do won't get anything like 60%+, so your logic seems very odd to me.
And as for Qatar 'growing in it's financial standing', I have no idea what this even means or how it relates to the salary increases. Let's face it, there's only one reason the government has brought in these wage hikes....
