Sounds to me like you arrived before 4pm... get there around 6 and you can't move there are so many people! Then you have the issue of trying to park (horrendous) and people not looking where they're going and just walking in to you....

Yes.... malls in Qatar suck. Unfortunately there's not a lot of choice! Grin and bear it, or make your own entertainment.
