very nice of u CF, previously i faced almost same issue but i thought of doing something useful and started to make small program to benefit my company and myself (experience) so i made a small program for the admin use (register) and another program for the time keeper and third for the stores to control some items which are not covered in their current system etc.
So try to do something like that which u can show ur self as a better staff to ur company and maybe they will award you for that.
