It is lovely to be welcomed to the QL forums with such open arms. :-)
Firstly, yes the question was a deliberate S*#t stir designed to guage the reaction of the QL community in general. Seems to be a few defensive eggs out there. Might make life a little interesting while living in Qatar.
Secondly, thanks for all who took some very precious time out of their day to remind me Qatar is a)an Islamic country, and b) alcohol should be banned. That's terrific news.
Thirdly, as has been readily expressed, I should probably just not move to Doha. But I'm gonna anyway. Partly to annoy those who'd rather not have me there, and partly (well mostly) because the pay is so damned good! Must be a reason why "they" pay me so well. I can help you out with that particular issue if you can take it like a man.
Fourthly, I can't stand religion at all. You don't have to respect that. It's fine with me. Don't expect me to respect your religion either. If you treat me like a human being, I will treat you like one, ok? Intellectual conversation regarding the subject will be gladly entered into, childish, unsubstantiated arguments will not be entertained (for very long).
Finally, I am actually looking forward to moving to Doha, and engaging with you all regularly right here on Qatarliving.com
