I moved here in September and bought my Chocolate Labrador from the UK. She has adapted very well, but obviously doesn't go out much in the intense heat we have now.
We used a UK company to bring her here and they worked with Doha vets (near Hamed Hospital). There are restrictions on certain breads but I am not sure which ones. Doha vets are really good and I would recommend them.
Our lab has adapted really well and the warmth also seems to have helped with her arthritis. You just have to be sensible and not take them out when the weather is really hot.
I have never had any problems when walking her, however we have been stared at and barked at by locals. I guess it is unusual for them to see someone walking a dog. I have heard of some people having problems in public places (corniche etc.), but we walk ours around the streets with no issues.
Well said Xena...

Hope this helps.
