As a person who is working in one of the government sectors here in Qatar, I should say most (not all!) of the nurseries in Doha are considered purely for business and they sacrify the quality for more revenue generations. Unlike other western or european countries which the managers need to have appropriate education in the field to operate a nursery school, kindergarden, or even schools, it is not a requirment here in Qatar. In fact, ministry of social affair which is the regulatory department for nursery operations has not set this requirment and they never ask the managers to show appropriate experience track or education certificate for establishing such a premises. Thus, most of the nursery managers do not have solid background and mostly their area of expertise are business and neither childcare nor education. It is like a plumber who opens a hospital! Thus, even a certified nursery is not necessarily a good nursery too.

I strongly suggest you to:

1- visit some well-known nurseries in person, ask for meeting with the manager who is normally not there. Get an appoitment with her and meet her and ask fo her background. Even try to talk with some teachers as they must be educated too. As a mother, you know what you should ask.

2- Ask them about the safety features of the nursery. Do not rely on their answers. See those features.

3- Ask about their curriculum.

4- Finally, see if you like the toys and building.

Just dont be shy! They want to charge you a big money, right?

I personnaly tried some nurseries here in Doha for my son and I can suggest you some good ones like Starfish Lane, Kidz International Pre-school, Petit Pas as I found them appropriate but there are much more in the list. Let me know if you need more help.
