The nukes were not pre-emptive strikes, and the US could have ascertained the impact of the weapons by testing them in remote areas (wait a minute, I believe they did that).
If Japan was on the verge of surrender, why did the government not do so after Hiroshima and thus prevent the Nagasaki bombing?
I'm not for killing, I'm not pro-nuke either. I am just pro-accuracy in history.
Baburao--why not count all the people the Asians have killed? The Mongols, Turks, the hordes that came out of Asia and into Europe in the 4th, 5th, 6th centuries, etc., etc., etc. put up a pretty high body count if I remember history correctly.
