I have been here only a week and I am feeling very comfort being here. I even take my little dog out for a walk and feel safe down my street.
I am trying to learn about the people and the customs. Our group of teachers have frequented a small grocery store across the street and the gentleman who owns it has been trying to get things for us. He ordered a case of dog food because he sees me with my dog on our daily walks. He could have easily ignored the possible need for me to get food for the dog but I take that as it benefits both of us.
My only problem and it is mine not the country is trying to get to places that sell items I need that the grocery store cannot get. I know I can walk some place or get a taxi but until I get my salary I am on a limited income. That is right now the only problem I am having.
I am looking forward to being here for a while and learning more about the country and the people.
