Chairboy - having some experience with people "leaving" positions, I would hope Ms. B-D was encouraged to leave and say nothing further with a helping golden handshake.
Further, given my experience, in order to file a suit and follow through, she would have to do so (a) before she left (and that's usually a 7 - 10 day slot) and (b) be allowed to return for the court date - if she hasn't been banned and is a granted a visa on arrival.
Oh, and of course, she would have to cover all the legal fees before she left and be willing to follow through, including the travel costs IF she is allowed back into the country for the court date - if the suit is heard on that date, or some other, postponements are likely to happen.
I have no direct knowledge of the incident other than what has been published. Unfortunately, she may have been expendable as far as the school is concerned. I hope my first guess is correct and she can move on.
