"Open up your mind people, we muslims simply want to be different, we have different values, and we take our faith more seriously than others"

That statement is offensive to people of other religious faiths. Imagine if a Jew made such claims of taking "our faith more seriously than others" to you. Would you not be offended?

My suggestion is that you "open your mind up" and be sensitive to others.

And in terms of wanting to be different, is the whole point you are making about conformity and wanting non-Muslims to abide by your religious and cultural practices? I would agree with the point if you were talking about Spain or the US, but Qatar is a nation in the Muslims are the majority. The people being different here are the non-Muslims.
