Hi Althea! I am a mother too and I am the sponsor of my 5 year old son. My husband doesn't have RP as he comes only to Qatar from time to time to do business (recruitment), most of the times of the year he's back in the Philippines. I brought my son here with visit visa, i was able to extend it till the seventh month (but that was some years back). My first try for a permanent visa for my son was rejected. I took an appointment for interview (with Qatar Labour at that time). What i did is i brought my son with me, he was 2 then, i instructed him to smile during the interview (wink!). I was just asked with one question by the Qatari Officer... "You want him here? and Viola! He said.. OK this is approved." I know how you feel, I've been through that too. Best of luck for you and your child.
