I agree its not very effective but its all what they have and lets don't forget that first & second Intifada used only rocks !!
The first Jewish militia (Haganah) used arm guns & hand made grenades against the British mandate army and Arab gangs, this militia latter named Israel defense army IDF.
The world do not care about morals or rights, there is only politics (Money + Power).
US policy in south America countries and middle east by supporting dictatorships is a good example.
Personally I wish that we could solve these issues peacefully and reasonably, and in a loving, tree hugging way, but we don't live in a world works like that.
These conflicts happens all the time, but what is making it worst in that region that both parties thinks that God is on there side and there will be no compromises.
Hatred is passed from generation to generation and indoctrinated to children using religion.
Truth and Reconciliation act in South Africa is a great way to solve such a deep & complicated conflict.
Israel will never fell safe & will not survive as Palestinians fells unjust & denied from there rights.
Not doing this is promoting fundamentalists on booth sides and possibly setting the course for a third world war.
