Not really ,Christians celebrating Christmas, try and utterly believe that Christmas is by core Christian, and they try to force that information (Not the practice of celebration).
Christmas is by core and origin, pagan, which is human.
But trying to disrupt the course of history by false information will only cause a big chain of disruptions and misconceptions.
So no, it is not Apples and oranges.
