I once stopped my car to help a Qatari guy. He had a flat battery and needed a jump start. I had the Jump Leads. So naturally I helped. So,this is what I believe all drivers should do to others. We should help each other on the roads. We are but one community.
I agree that in London I would not find many volunteers like I do here. Perhaps by stopping, they might get into unsolicited troubles. There have been cases where many unscrupulous people who pretend to be in trouble and when you stop to help them, they rob you or harm you. So people are a tad bit suspicious. We have the AA insurance to rescue us, so people would believe you are just waiting for the rescue cars to arrive. Otherwise, people are also helpful in England..only when you ask. They will never make the first move. It kinda makes sense, after all. You are the one in trouble. You ask first if you cannot resolve your problem, otherwise others will assume you are able to handle the situation.
Other than that, I do believe Qataris are good people. Most of them I know are genuinely good friends. As for those Qataris who help other drivers stuck in sand dunes, I can't deny that. God! They are very keen to help anyone. Many thanks to them.
