Could it be attributed to the use of corn syrup sweetener in the north american markets?

there was another study which showed lowered intellect from using consumables sweetened by such syrups.

I noticed a difference in the taste with the pop here compared to the pop in toronto.

I later found out that real sugar was used in GCC production of the same soft drinks, instead of the corn syrup back home.

I wonder if the chances for cancer are the same still.
