Animals have all the emotions as we human beings have. They have ego, can play politics, can beg for mercy or help & can be thankful also. I know this due to my personal experience with a she dog. She had two puppies who used to keep falling to the other side of the wall & mother could not get them out of it. So on many occasion, I got down & picked up the puppies for their mother. One day when I was returning from my work place & climbing up the steps in front of my house, that dog came barking & she caught hold of my hand & started guiding me towards the ditch. When I reached their I saw two very mean looking big dogs eying the small puppies fallen in the ditch.I threw stones at those big dogs & they ran away and I got the puppies out of that ditch. And then I saw that she dog stretching out her front legs as if she was bowing down in front of me. I thought it is my imagination & dismissed the thought. Next day when I got up , I couldn't believe the scene in front of my door. There was lying the skeleton of a dead dog (most probably been dead for quite sometime I think). And that she dog & the puppies were sitting next to that carcass. I felt like vomiting due to the stench & then I saw the she dog again doing that gesture of bowing down & she left with her puppies. And then I realized that that decaying skeleton was my gift from a thankful mother. Trust me friends, every line of this story is true.
