Mandi, how sure are you? I don't doubt your insight, but I applied to a position in July. I got a reply a month ago saying that my application has progressed to the next stage, but no reply since (positive or negative).

I really want this opportunity to work out, but the long gap is making me lose my hope. Is this normal for them to wait so long?
