This is true even now. They charge twice the making charge. The reason is that most from Kerala trust jwellers from Kerala but they cheat you.Mainly Mlbr. J-Allu Dams etc The worst is that they assume customers to be ignorant.Just look at the designs that they display as Turkish designs. It is barely comparable to the real turkish designs in the market and they charge around 28 to 30 dhs as making charge. We did some reserch and eventually purchased from Popley Jewellers( dubai, maybe not there in Qatar) . We never went there because it is not from Kerala but we did our reserch and found they are in dubai for more than 80 years. The best is that the making charge was only 15dhs and that to not the bogus turkish designs but real artworks.
