I think cricket is an entertainment game at this moment if I am not wrong. The organizers know how to attract crowed and from where to attract.
In my opinion, Cricket is a game with lessons and respect. I can recall a situation when Mr.Mark Taylor scored, 334 runs and declared the innings equaling Sir. Donald Bradman’s record runs of 334.
My cricket coach Mr.Birty use to tell us play in the “V”. Use the straight bat. Umpires decision is the ultimate. Wait for the loose ball and don’t hit the loosner’s. Occupy the crease to get use to the conditions. There are many more and cricket veteran’s will tell more than what I can say. I can imagine how much it can effect a person to live a well-disciplined life.
The cricket is identified as a gentlemen’s game by the inventors. I am not a person against or bothered how much a cricketer earn and what is his total income.
May be, I may question myself, where this gentlemen’s game of cricket is heading to. Is it disciplined like early days or it’s just played to win & for the purpose of entertainment.
As long as there are audience, the dance will continue. So let’s see in the future how much the game of cricket is to be modernized to attract more & more people.
Btw; I am not watching cricket for past ten years or so. Read’s in news paper.
