I had a very disappointing experience in Al Ahli hospital. This hospital is about visuals. It looks rather like a mall than a hospital. It has a fountain, some green plants, a coffeshop, an ATM and many cashiers. This is why it is considered to be the best hospital in Doha. However what makes a hospital reputable is not how luxurious it looks and how expensive you pay for services, but how well qualified and efficient the health professionals there are. The doctors and the nurses are hidden in a section with doors that can be open only from the inside. There are signs "Agressive behaviour to the staff is not tolerated". I wonder why these signages even exist if the staff is formed by good professionals to whom patients should be normally grateful...
I have consulted a pulmonologist, Dr. Hassan Al-Sawaf, following a recommendation. He tried to hear my breathing through my jacket, which shocked me, and all the consultation was about ordering costly tests and finally prescribing common treatments without looking for further issues. So, I have finally decided to seek treatment and health care abroad anytime I need it.
