Can a person hold 2 differet RP's ?

Hi,

I am starting work in Qatar next week. My partner will be added to my family RP in due course. She is also applying for a job from outside Qatar and if she is successful, she will be sponsored by the company she will work for. By that time, she will be on the family RP. How does this work ? Will she be required to stay on the family RP, effectively sponsored by me or will the company she works for take precedence and become her sponsor ? And how will this be arranged ?

Thanks in advance.....

Cheers, that all sounds pretty promising then. I guess if that's the case, we can pick and choose whether to take my company accom, her company accom or a shed load of cash and live at "The Pearl"

Much appreciated.

She gets accomodation and altogether an expat package which gives you a great flexibility of chosing where to live or save money if both the employers are offering cash instead of company provided accomdtn

for your reply. Does this mean that as a local hire, she will, as a rule, be entitled to less benefits. The job she has applied for carries a good package including accomodation/ allowances/ utilities/ etc.

Our thoughts are that, as we will both be given accomodation, will it be better to be sponsored by her potential company and take an accomodation allowance rather than be sponsored by me and potentially lose that allowance if she is employed as a "local hire".

She is being interviewed in London and employed as an ex-pat.

Confused !!

Hi Sheddie.. if your partner gets an RP under your sponsorship, then she does not need another company to sponsor her. She will be employed as a local hire and can remain under your sponsorship. She can work freely after obtaining a work permit and does not need to change her sponsorship to a company's. She can mention it while applying for jobs that she is under the process of obtaining a family visa.
