Canadians not getting visitors visa to KSA

We are a Canadian family who is trying to drive to Dubai during the Eid holidays.

I went yesterday to the agency  that provides  the visas to SAUDI and they told me that they are not issuing visitor visas to Canadians, that if we leave our passports there we will have them back in a month.

Has anyone have any info about the new law they are talking about?

Thanks.

I think the issue is not with saudi transit visa, it is with UAE visa on arrival. Unfortunately, Canadians have to apply for visa in advance due to the issue that happened early this year with regards to Emirates Airlines and Canadian Aviation Authorities. UAE immigration has become more stricter with Canadian passport holders and ensure that they secure a visa before arriving in UAE. Now, i would hope that your GCC visa would secure you entry permit, but again, this is all about UAE authorities. Try to arrange your visit visa for UAE in advance before you start off. Drive safe!

readings and based on others experiences there is somebody or something  misleading you in your journey.

What you need is a transit visa (not a visitor visa) to go through Saudi territory while driving to UAE and back. And that  VISA (to my knowledge) is given on the border post. There is no need to get an agent to do that.

Visitors visas to Saudi must be because you are going to visit somebody, you are going to pilgrimage or simply getting a Job and then somebody has to send you a formal invitation to visit as well as the Visa. Once again what you need is a transit VISA and unless things changed recently; it is given in the border post.
