changing the profession before stamping the visa on passport
I am very new to qatar working for a construction company. Basically i am a mechanical engineer and my designation in the company is Sr. Mechanical Engineer. Company had taken a group visa and there it is mentioned technician which i was not knowing. I came to know that only when i went for the medical. It was a terrible day for me.Now i only finished my medical. Can anybody advice me whether there is any provision to change the profession before stamping the resident visa on passport. If yes what is the procedure??
There is no harm in stamping your passport with a different designation. A lot of people are experiencing that. This is so because your company may not have a visa of the same designation as your position but reality is, you loose a lot of benefits having an engeneer visa. For as long as your contract with your company is what you and employer had agreed upon.
There are many people in Doha who cannnot even get a visa. There are companies who cannot grant visa because they are not allowed for another one and are force to hire even uncompetitive people under someones sponsor.
You can change your profession once the visa has stamped & after 3 months. You should submit your three months salary certificate, Your Professional certificates (with attested by your embassy & ministry of foreign affairs)
You can only change ur profession when you have done your RP IF they have a senior mechanical engineer visa that is!!!
Most of the expatriates come under different visa categories and later on change to the respective designatories.
There is no halm in getting your passport stamped with this visa as long as the company takes responsibility to change the stamped visa to your position afterwards.
Your PRO should be well aware of this process.
