Hai QLs,

I am an engr, but in my Qatar id my proffession is foreman. I want to change my proffession to engr, but our company PRO says as i am a diploma holder, i can't change my proffession because for changing proffession degree in engineering is must.

Is it neccessary to have an engineering degree to change my proffession? I'm waiting for your valuable comments and advices.....Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys for ur responces. Unfortunately i couldn't complete my B.tech degree. But I have marklists of B.tech except last semester, in all semester i scored 85-87 percentage. Is it helpful? Is it possible to cancel my current visa and come back in Engr's visa in the same company?(i know so many unqualified people on engr's visa) If it's possible, the company will do it for me.

Huge difference in Diploma certificate and Engineering Degree. Diploma certificate is a certificate course at collage level and is Associate Engineer. You will not be granted an engineer’s visa on this certificate.

Yes dear , it is necessary to have an Engineering Degree Certificate to change your profession to Engineer. A Diploma holder cannot become an Engineer even though he has gud Experience.

I doubt if its necessary.

I have heard of people of lesser qualification than yours having "Project Engineer" or "Manager" title in their visa application.

In any case a diploma in engineering makes you an Engineer! Again in many countries a degree is often referred to as a diploma.

Even if your current post at work goes as an Engineer, your degree has to be a B.Tech, BE or BS to have it stamped in the Visa.

Hope that helped!

Unluckly you can not, and also there are so many people (i dont want to say Nationality guess if you can) are technicians and they says they are Engineers and they wanted other people to call them Engineer.....(name, you know photocopier/fax machine mechanic also engineer??!!! another wonder thing a Pharmasist and Medical representitive are also says Doctor... if you dont call them doctor or Engineers they will be really upset. Take care.
