Clarification on emailed visa

By femme

Would anybody know the procedure for emailed visa? My employer told me that the visa will be sent via email in the next few days. I thought visas are official documents, in black and white? Should I just print the page and present it at immigration? Thanks for the help.

We'll, different experience for different people. Anyway, thanks for all the inputs. I'm sure to explore all avenues you people mentioned when my visa gets here. At least now, I have plenty of ideas. Also, I'll wait what my employer has to say.Thank you all very much.

When coming here on a one way ticket at the start of my contract, I was stopped at Heathrow check in and had to provide evidence of employment (QP contract) and the downloaded copy of visa that I had printed. At Immigration this end, they processed my visa in a matter of minutes, all I had was a contract and a very fuzzy printout of the visa. Because they already have your details in the system, they process you by scanning your passport. It was no problem for me, except that the airline wanted to make sure I wouldn't be refused entry as they get fined. This was less than a year ago with a British passport. May be differesnt for other passports. One thing I can say is that the Immigration guys at Doha were very professional and knew what they were doing. All the best, JJ

Hi Femme,

it seems you are going to Doha on a business visa but already have an employer here? this is what u can do, once u receive your visa, either thru mail or downloaded from the MOI website, send it via courier (DHL or WWW) to the Qatar embassy in the Phil for authentication, along with the other docs. the people in the courier service have this checklist for which doc u need to attach to the visa. u have to pay for 2-way delivery, from u to Qatar embassy and going back to u. u will receive the authenticated visa within a week of sending it.but i'm not sure which part of the process the Labor agency comes in here. goodLuck!

Guess you are now confused by nicaq25 reply.

Let me put it this way:

1. Your employer is supposed to send you the ticket. So they will be responsible for any mistake and they will be double charged with the ticket cost.

2. The airline officer in Manila would not know the rules. So in worst cases to let you travel, you can simply sign a form (I do not know its name) that you will be travelling on your own responsibility coz airlines allowing passengers who do not have visas are responsible for the charges resulting from their mistakes.

3. The most important, I got my maid from Ethiopia 1 month ago by simply sending a scanned copy of her visa by email. Everything was smooth.

SO do not panic my friend.

Mind you, I also work for the government.

Hi kabayan,

I Have read your post here and it seemed that you're confused about this visa issue. Well, let me share w/ you our recent experience when we were at Dubai's check-in counter (immigration) waiting to depart for Doha, there was 1 pinay who was not able to get thru (or on hold)because she only had a "downloaded copy" of her visa. She tried to show some papers (documents maybe) that her employer in Qatar sent to her, even her authenticated Philippine records, but to no avail. I think there was also another guy with her w/ the same situation. I heard the immigration guy (arab nationality) said that the photocopy/downloaded copies are not anymore recognized, unless you have the original with you. I don't understand the current procedure now but, as for me, better check w/ your employer first.

(As for my sister-in-law case when she came here, we sent the original visa (blue paper) thru air courier. And she came here smoothly, no hassles from the immigration whatsoever.)

So good luck to you:)

Thank you apple for the prompt reply. I hope there's not going to be a snag at the immigration in NAIA. A friend of mine went to Oman using the photocopied visa sent to her and she wasn't let through by immigration because the original was required. I hope it's not going to be the case here.

Your employer will give you the visa number and you can track down and print from this site www.moi.gov.qa

when you got the visa number just open that site:

-click "visa inquiry",

-enter "visa number",

-tick "visit visa" (if you are business visa) and

-click "submit".

It will show your visa and all your details, print a copy (must be coloured copy) to be present at Immigration NAIA during departure.

Visas are now electronic and the hardcopy has no value

All you need to do is print the emailed visa, check all the details like name, passport number, etc.

You will need the hardcopy if requested at the airport in Manila as a proof that you have visa. In Doha you would not need it as the immigration officers have all the details stored in the computer. Just keep the copy with you.

Welcome to Doha.
