Confusion, granting of visas/exit from today

The following email seems to be going around, can anyone shed any light on this?

‘’Only Qatar residents with multiple exit visas will be allowed to fly in and out of Qatar between 28 November and 03 December 2008.

Do not make any travel arrangements into Doha during this period. You will not be granted visa on arrival and will be deported back to your airport of departure.

Holders of transit visas (= tourist visas) with expiry date on 28th November MUST exit Qatar on or before that date and can only re-enter after 3rd December

Beware, that from today travellers coming into Doha will only be granted a visa up until 28th November 2008 and will have to exit the country on or before that date. ”

Yes their might be some disruption in issuing new visas but not allowing to enter country for valid visa holders might not be true.”
