curious if one can drive around the gulf and visit each country by car

I was wondering if one who works in qatar can drive around the gulf and look at the sites such as oman, saudi (on an umrah visa), kuwait, dubai, and yemen easily. Or does one need special visas.. or permission to enter each country.

I would love to check out each country and see the sites!

Travel agent knows all about this things and they can arrange the visa in each country you want to visit too. My friend told me it's not very expensive, they went to visit her sister in Saudi Arabia and cross Dubai and Oman as well to visit their old friends and went to Bahrain too within 2 weeks. She has her husband and kids with her.

It's great to be loved!

It does sound like one needs to be prepared for travel in the gulf countries.

I wonder how difficult it would be to obtain travel permits for my purpose? My husband would be the driver with me and the 2 kids enjoying the mini tv's :) (wishful thinking)

I have heard Oman is very beautiful! I have never been to Kuwait or bahrain and am eager to travel and see the sites. InshAllah ameen

They do not issue tourist visa in Saudi Arabia as it is not for tourism. Only Muslim who wants to go to Mecca can easily apply for this type of visa and people who brings their relatives over for a visit. If you're just going to cross the boarder to go to Bahrain, Dubai or Oman, then you can pass the boarder of Saudi Arabia but you cannot stay if you don't have any relatives who invites you over. As of previous people told you, you need a male company to drive for you, while you're inside Saudi boarder.

It's great to be loved!

Would that male "friend" not need to be a relative in Saudi?

If youwant to travle around in the gulf by car, this is not as easy as it would be like driving around in Europe! You will need many different visas, there are different regulations etc etc. FYI if you want to drive from here to Dubai, you will need to go thru Saudi. Women are not allowed to drive in Saudi. This would be your first hurdle.......So check your info very carfully. It could be done but you might need the help from a male friend. Contact each embassy individually for this.
