I ask a friend of mine who's working for my former company in the HR dept. regarding my transfer of sponsorship and he told me that less than two years tenure will not be approved for transfer as a new rule.( I have NOC)
How true is this? and what is the best remedy for this?
My direct answer..Yes it is true.

while selecting people within QATAR, especially working under another company, we take in consideration one year. However, the documented rule being two years. I have cases of people getting into other companies after one year.
If ure really interested, u might want to approach the "mandoop/PRO" of your present and new company to see if the application will go through. Most often, mandoops with a good "hold" on the ministry officials can get it done for you effortlessly.

spike, as far as i know, only those with less than a year could not be transferred. since you have worked more than a year, you can transfer your sponsorship provided you have NOC.

I think, the best remedy is to consult the authority directly(i.e. Ministry of Labor, et. al.) about the actual policy.
