Family Residence Visa

I am new in Qatar and working for one of the government organization. My Resident permit is under process and after getting it i will be applying for Residency Visa for my family.

I need to know whether is there any requirement for Bank statement in order to apply for Residency Visa for family, or there is a waiver for government employees.

If there is a requirement then i will not be able to apply for there residency visa, then can i request my family to visit on a visit visa and do i need to apply for it or can they come on a on arrival visa as they are canadian citizens, or do i need to apply for a different visa.

Can someone guide me about it.

You should have Marriage Contract for your wife and Birth Certificates for your children. Both attested from Foreign Ministry in your country, your country's embassy here in Qatar and Foreign Ministry of Qatar. Nothing else needed.

Thanks eprasu for your reply. What i can understand is that it will be better for me to get my family on Visit Visa, and then go for medical examination within a month and then apply for extension of visa.

I already opened up a bank account. If i opened up an account on say 20 October than i will have 3 month bank statement on 20 Jan and then i can apply for Resident permit. Sounds ok

Can you please let me know what are the requirements in order to apply for visit visa for family.

Bank statement (at least 3 month) require to apply for family VISA. You can open back account (without your RP)if your company provide a letter to open account. I am not sure about waiver for government Employee. You can bring family in VISIT visa and RP can be done within 6 months. Need to go for madical within a month of entry and visit visa can be extended for one or two months (even upto 5 months). But, it is little costly since we need to pay QR200/month/person whereas QR500/year/person only for RP. But, make sure to get RP within 6 months, otherwise the family need to go outside the country and need to apply RP from outside if stayed in Qatar for 6 months in VISIT visa.
