Family visa and silly buggers
Here is an interesting one!! I have been in Qatar 3 years on Bachelor status - 3 months ago I was married. My wife is outside the country and naturally I want her here with me. I have applied to my company for a family visa in the way that is well documented in these various threads - certificate, Embassy attestation, passports and Qatari Ministry. My company are now telling me that despite the fact that the Embassy have attested the stamp from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs they have a question mark over its authenticity!! They have told me to get a stamp from the Qatar Embasy in Kathmandu (my wife is Nepali) - well thing is there is NO Qatari representation in Nepal!! But thats not the issue.
Anybody out there got a legal take on this situation?? I have done everything that the law requires and by law, there is nothing to stop them processing the application - I guess for reasons known to themselves they are playing silly buggers. There are no hidden agendas here - I am a senior status HR guy working in the QP downsteam. Hopefully common sense will prevail and through consultation this will be actioned - BUT if they persist in this way, what legal recourse is open to me AFTER I have exhausted the company grievance procedure - human rights commission/labour court??? Finally let me add that there is absolutley NO reason for them to doubt the authenticity of the Nepali stamp - after all the foremost authority in things Nepali in Qatar have attested to its verasity.
Grasteful for any informed thoughts on options - particularly from HR and Leagal people out there.
Thanks
